Chuck & Charlie - Part 2

"Hey! What did you do? That guy looks dead, with all that blood."

"What did you expect me to do? Let's get out of here and to heck with that so-called 'magic ball'. Whose stupid idea was this, anyhow?"

"The idea is not stupid. That ball is worth thousands of dollars, if not more. I heard that one guy is offering a million dollars for this ball."

"What? What is this ball? Pure 100% gold?"

"Who knows what it is. I just know that if we find this ball, we're going to be on easy street for the rest of our lives."

"Well, I can't find it and neither can you. Where else would you keep a ball?"

"I don't know, and I think we better get out of here. Someone may come to the door and we don't want to be caught here with that guy bleeding all over everything."

Behind the drapes in the man's office, a creature with two little eyes peeks out and sees the man bleeding on the floor. A small wail escapes from his lips. He goes over the man and shakes his shoulder, trying to wake him up. The man does not move. He is scared, and crouches behind the drapes, clutching his pretty toy - a shiny, sparking ball.

Being frightened is not very nice and the only thing he can think of is to escape. Luck is with him when he sees the robbers have gone and he finds the back door open. He quickly runs out and hides in the trees next to the park.

Chuck & Charlie - Part 1

"Wow! Charlie can sure throw that ball. Look, she aced second base on her first try."

"Hey, Chuck! Ask Charlie if she'll be on our team this weekend. We need someone with a good arm. Those guys from Harvey Street are coming over and we're having a challenge softball game."

Chuck rode his bike as fast as he could, he didn't want his Mom to be mad at him, if he was late. He'd been trying to be real good because he's been asking and asking his Mom for a pet for about two weeks. She kept telling him, "we'll see, we'll see." In Chuck's mind, that meant 'maybe' and he wasn't going to do anything to make her mad right now - just in case the maybe turned into an 'alright'.

Just as Chuck rode around the corner, he spotted Officer Ward getting out of his police car.

"Hello, Chuck. Have you been to the park today?"

"Yes sir. I'm just hurrying home from there. I have to go to the dentist this afternoon."

"It's very good to look after your teeth. You run along, Chuck. Good luck at the dentist."

Two criminals were ransacking an older man's home office, looking for something. The old man came upon them in his office, and even though he was in a wheelchair, he started yelling at them and rushing at them with a log he grabbed from beside the fireplace - raised and ready to hit them with it.

"Quick, grab the old guy!"

"Stop him, you idiot - don't let him get to the telephone."

"Watch it! Now see what you've done. You've knocked the old man out of his wheelchair, and he hit his head on the edge of the fireplace. Wow! Look at all that blood!"

"Have you ever had so much fun in your life,Mykk?"

"Well, I love this fishing, but I love the horses DMan sent to your mother, much better."

"Let's go for a ride. Here comes Arianna. Look Alxx - she's riding a big horse now."

"Hi, Arianna. Did you come to go fishing today?"

"No, we came to trade some more silver for the tech, er techon, er, oh whatever that is."

"You mean technology?"

"Yeah, that's it. It's great to have lights that go on whenyou just walk into a room. I love all the new things we are leaning."

"And, we love all thenew things you have taught us too. It's great when people of different cultures can get together and share their knowledge. It makes for a pretty good world."

"I hope we can have another adventure one day. Wouldn't that be great?"

"Yeah, Arianna. It would be great. Hey look, Is that smoke soming out of that mountain way over in the middle of the ocean?"

"Yowza! What do you suppose that is, Alxx?"

"Beats me. Maybe it's that dead volcano we learned about. Let's go and tell mother, she'll be able to figure out what's happening."

Could this be another adventure?
